It was a few days before payday so I was completely skint and the Boots in my hometown is very small with limited choice – they’re my excuses for deciding to buy Tresemme Split Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner.
Tresemme say that their Split Remedy range contains a revolutionary Reconstructing Complex which repairs up to 80% of the splits you have in just three uses – and keeps working to help prevent new split ends from occurring. Erm... I have never had so many split ends in my life! The condition of my hair has drastically deteriorated in the few weeks of using this range. The shampoo doesn’t feel like it has washed out completely, my hair just doesn’t feel clean.
My hair normally blow dries to a slightly wavy finish which I can either finish off with irons or just run a bit of product through if I feel like working with the waves. Since using this range I feel like I need to straighten my hair every time as my hair is so fuzzy, fluffy and unmanageable. I’m not due a trim for another few weeks but I feel the need to take the scissors to my own hair and snip away some of these ends, they look horrid! These bottles are going in the bin and never again will I buy any Tresemme products. Even if they are only £3.26 for 500ml.
Praise the hair Gods, this stuff is amazing! It claims it instantly detangles and protects colour-treated or highlighted hair. It contains a few natural ingredients (always a winner with me) such as sea buckthorn to protect and grapefruit and hibiscus to seal the cuticle for ultimate shine. I don’t even have coloured hair – well maybe the very ends have a few whispers of old highlights – but this stuff worked wonders on my hair from the first use. My hair was immediately softer, smoother and a heck of a lot more manageable.
My other hair hero is one I am sure you are probably also a fan of: Moroccanoil Hair Treatment.

My hair hero came in the form of Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner which I got a sample of in the January Feel Unique Beauty Box.

I am so buying myself a full-sized bottle of this Phyto stuff, I may even treat myself to one their shampoos. Laura off buynowbloglater.com uses the range too and she has lovely hair. All the more reason to purchase! The Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner costs £10.20 for 150ml from feelunique.com which is a heck of a lot more than the Tresemme stuff, but as I have learned, cheap isn’t always cheerful.
My other hair hero is one I am sure you are probably also a fan of: Moroccanoil Hair Treatment.
When I first heard about Moroccanoil I loved the sound of it, but at around £30 for a 100ml bottle I was loath to part with that much money in case I didn’t like it. Luckily for me, my lovely hairdresser gave me a 10ml bottle to try. That bottle lasted 2 months and I fell in love with the stuff. My hair is so much softer and shinier since using the oil.
Moroccanoil Hair Treatment contains argan oil, an antioxidant and rich in vitamins to protect and strengthen your hair. I rub a small amount through my damp hair before I blowdry and also use a tiny amount to smooth the ends of my hair. I have hair extensions, and anyone with extensions knows that drying your hair is a bitch, it takes so long! Moroccanoil is said to halve drying time; whilst I wouldn’t go that far, it does make a big difference. This stuff smells fantastic too, I love getting wafts of the fragrance when I swoosh my hair. There are loads of similar products on the market now, but this is my favourite. It’s a little on the pricey side but it lasts ages and really delivers on its promises.
What are your hair villains and heroes?
Everyones been talking about the phytobaume. You're right. Cheap isnt always good. I'd rather buy one bottle of that than five high street ones if they done the trick! Great post:)
ReplyDeleteI've ordered it full size, and got the shampoo too! :) x
DeleteGreat post, i really need to try the Moroccanoil Hair Treatment x
ReplyDeleteIt's fab, you must try it if you can! x
DeleteI'll be steering well clear of Tresemme from now on, not that I have ever used them!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing great things about the Morrocan oil, need to try it but does seem quite expensive!
Stace x
The price is what put me off trying MoroccanOil for ages, until I got my little free bottle. If you can get hold of a small bottle to try it would be so worth it! x
DeleteOh, I absolutely adore Moroccanoil! The little bottle actually does last quite a while because you only need the tiniest amount. I've just fallen in love with the shampoo and conditioner. Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteI've not tried anything else from the range, I am tempted though x
DeleteI also love the phyto conditioner and one I'd purchase! Also love morrocanoil and macademia. My no.1 shampoo and conditioner of choice is Kerastase Bain Satin 1. x
ReplyDeleteI will put Kerastase on my list of ones to try ;) xx
Deletei need to try the morrocan oil,its just so expensive!
ReplyDeleteIt is expensive and the price initially put me off. But now I've tried it I think it's worth every penny! xx
Deletei have literally just started using argan oil on my hair (lee stafford who does poker straight products has brought one out at a fraction of the price thankfully!) and its amazing! my hair looks so much nice with it! Great product picks here!
