I’ve been using some TONI & GUY hair products that I received as part of a word of mouth Bzz campaign featuring TONI & GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe – a complete range of haircare and styling products to help you express your personal style. The Heat Protection Mist is the product I have been using the most.
The mist helps to protect your hair from damage caused by heat styling and also helps to condition your hair for a smoother finish. You can use it on damp hair before blow drying and also on dry hair before using heated styling tools like straighteners or curling wands. My hair is long and mostly straight but has random kinks and waves so I do sometimes use my straighteners if my hair is going a bit squiffy.

Before you can use the TONI & GUY Prep Heat Protection Mist, you'll need to know how to unlock it. It flummoxed me at first and seemingly I'm not the only one! Just below the trigger spray, there is a little button. It's not obvious at first, but once you find it you'll be like "ahhhhhh!" Simply press the button to slide it across and, voila, it will unlock the spray.
I’ve been using the Heat Protection Mist on my damp hair before blow drying. When I had shorter hair I used to be quite naughty and not bother using any type of heat protection on my hair! My hairdresser used to go mad at me, but now my hair is longer and consequently drier I can’t get away with laziness anymore. If I don’t use heat protection my hair really suffers! I sprayed the mist all over my damp hair, about 8-10 sprays, combed through and then simply blow dried as normal. It really does help to leave your hair feeling smooth and sleek.
Sometimes the kinks and waves in my hair can be a little out of control, or if I’m going out for the evening I quite like a straighter finish, so I have also tried this mist on dry hair before using straighteners. I used one spray per section of hair then use the straighteners. I normally swear by Sebastian Shine Define Hairspray when I use heated styling tools; I’ve used it for years and quite frankly no other product comes close. I was quite happy with the results of the Heat Protection Mist though, it makes fast work of straightening my hair and my hair did feel protected. It doesn’t give quite as shiny a finish as the Sebastian spray and doesn’t seem to give hair any hold like the Sebastian spray does so you will need to use a separate hairspray.
TONI & GUY Prep Heat Protection Mist comes in a 150ml bottle and can be bought from Boots for £6.99, although I received this product as a sample through the Bzz campaign. I personally prefer my Sebastian Shine Define Hairspray but I would happily use this mist if I had run out or if I couldn’t get hold of Sebastian Shine Define Hairspray anymore. It’s excellent value for money considering that brands like Sebastian are about three times as much!
Do you have a favourite hair product?

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm new to Tony & Guy but they still have the same confusing information on their product eight years on from your excellent post. Wouldn't you have thought they might have googled their own product and made the wording easier to understand in the meantime? Too obvious? Anyway thanks a million for the info really appreciate your help.
