My family and I live in a privately rented house so as you can imagine we are very limited on what we can do to make our house a home. We aren't allowed to decorate, so we are stuck with our landlord's interesting taste in wallpaper. The way I make my house a home is by choosing lovely soft furnishings, linens and decorative items. I’ve put together a mood board of the items I would choose from The Yorkshire Linen Co to makeover my bedroom for under £75.
Our bedroom has our landlord’s choice of gold starry wallpaper and enormous, dark wooden wardrobes. The combination makes the bedroom feel rather closed in and cramped, despite being a large room. We also have Baby J’s cot bed which adds to the cramped feeling! Until now I had chosen bright white cotton bedding and a decorative cushion which I thought would lighten the room, but as you can see it just makes the room look rather cold and boring!
I had a good look through the range of bedding the The Yorkshire Linen Co has – they have all sorts of colours and styles to choose from! I really love grey so decided to choose some grey and neutral coloured items as I think these would work well to brighten and warm the look of my bedroom.
I chose the gorgeous Duck Egg Jacquard King Size Duvet Cover Set £24.99 (1), from Yorkshire Linen’s extensive range of Duvet Covers. I also chose the Natural Knitted Throw, £16.99 (2), Bedspreads & Throws at Yorkshire Linen. This will look lovely tucked over the end of the bed, as well as providing an extra layer to snuggle under when the weather turns cold.
Finally, to finish the look, I chose three Cushion Covers: Catherine Lansfield Wasting Time Boudoir Cushion, £6.99 (3), Catherine Lansfield Vintage Hearts Cushion Cover, £6.99 (4), and Catherine Lansfield Time Is Priceless Cushion Cover, £5.99 (5).
I think these five items would go together really well, making a big difference to the look of my bedroom, plus they are all well under budget!
What do you think of my choices from The Yorkshire Linen Co?
