REVIEW: Gro-light

Little N has been in his own bedroom for over a year now however he often wakes up during the night. He is still so young after all. When he does wake up he is frightened because it is so dark. I have spent a long time trying to find a suitable nightlight for him as I thought this might help him to be less frightened. The Gro Company have created the Gro-light*, which is a simple, fantastic 2-in-1 adapter that turns the main light into a night light, so there is no need for a separate light.

grolight review

The Gro-light has a bayonet attachment at the top which easily fits to the main overhead light in the bedroom. The lightbulb is fitted as normal to the bottom. The Gro-light has LED bulbs which are adjustable and provide a soft, comforting nightlight glow. To turn the nightlight on switch the light on once. To switch the main light on, switch the light on twice. It is a simple but absolutely brilliant idea!

We’ve been using the nightlight function in Little N’s room for a few weeks now, and although he does still wake up during the night he doesn’t wake as frequently and is not as upset when he does wake. He tells me that he really likes his new light. We are going to be moving Baby J into his big brother’s room soon and I am hoping that the nightlight will help with the transition. I expect that J is still going to be waking for night feeds so I’m hoping that the soft glow of the Gro-light will make it easy for me to go in to feed him without waking N.

review gro light

The Gro-light is a brilliant device. It is great for checking on babies, for helping toddlers feel brave in their own rooms, and for helping parents to see during night feeds. It costs £17.99 and can be purchased here.

What tips do you have for helping babies transition to their own bedroom?

Disclosure: I was kindly sent the Gro-light to review, however all thoughts and opinion are my own.

  2. It can be so difficult getting kids used to the dark so a device that transform a regular light to a night light is a fantastic idea.

  5. This sounds like such a great idea. We've never been able to have a light on in the room for Arthur as he can only sleep in the dark.

  9. Fab idea for a product - we never used night lights and always left landing light on but I think I would have preferred something like this x
