Every Christmas Ian and I make the effort of going out to dinner somewhere, with the children of course, either on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or sometimes actually on Christmas Day itself! It's rare that we treat ourselves so this is like a little gift to us. This year we have the addition of Essie and whilst she will be old enough to enjoy some food she's still going to be breastfeeding as well. That means that whatever I'll be wearing needs to be suitable for nursing in and Milk & Mummy kindly sent me the most perfect dress for the occasion.
The Zenobi dress is the winter version of their best-selling summer lace nursing dress. This long-sleeved dress skims just above my knees (I'm 5'2!) and is made out of a stretchy bamboo material with a gorgeous lace overlay. Cleverly it has breastfeeding access at the empire line, but at first glance you wouldn't realise it. There are no poppers or zips to fiddle with; you simply lift the fabric from just below the bust. If you're familiar with the "one up, one down" method then it's a bit similar to that.
The dress is so elegant and so comfortable. It is perfect for any special occasions over the festive season such as Christmas parties, winter weddings - or, like me, for wearing on Christmas Day! My cousin is getting married next May and I think this dress will be ideal for wearing to her wedding as well, just with different accessories. It's also machine washable so I don't have to worry about getting it specially dry cleaned - I don't know about you but I certainly don't have time for that! I love that it isn't obvious that it's a nursing dress as it means that I will still be able to wear it even once Essie decides to wean.
The Zenobi dress comes in three colours: Fig, which is what I'm wearing, Blue and Black. It's available in sizes 8-16. I'm wearing size 10 and find it true to size. It costs £89.00 and you can find it here.
